I Almost Said No.

I Almost Said No

Howdy!  I thought it would be fun to tell a quick story of the CEO, Pancho, and how he came into our lives.

We adopted Pancho in 2011 from an amazing rescue, Rimrock Humane Society located in Roundup Montana.  He was believed to be about 3.

Pancho is our 2nd Chihuahua (5th rescue dog).  Prior to Pancho we had Pearl, a very sassy fun little lady who tragically got very ill and was with us only a short while.

We had contacted a few rescues, one for Pearl and one for Pancho and initially chose Pearl.  She was just meant to be with us in her final days.  However, Pancho did not get adopted in that time, hum, maybe it was meant to be but it almost did not happen.

Now all of our prior dogs had such outgoing and lively personalities so when we were first introduced to Pancho it was a bit of a shocker.  He was so timid, shy and very frightened.  His foster parents dropped him off with us to go have lunch and let us get acquainted.

I heated up a wheat pillow and we coaxed him onto my lap.  He just curled up and quivered.  After about 30 minutes he started to relax but he was still very timid acting.

Here comes the tough part we now have a big decision to make.  Yes or no?  Do we keep this scared timid dog or move on?  My heart is in turmoil, he is so cute and adorable but I never seen or been around such a timid dog.

I almost said no.

No is what my head said but my heart said yes.  I choose my heart and am SO BEYOND GLAD I DID!

What was once a scared, timid, shy chi is now a total ball of fire and the light of our lives!  He is hilarious, spunky and full of attitude!  And he TOTALLY runs this joint!

I learned a very valuable lesson, never judge a rescue dog in those first moments, give them time.  Although all of our prior pups were a rescue, we didn’t seem to need that adjustment period with them.

And that folks is how “Lil Man” came into our lives and we could not be any happier!

Thanks for stopping by Pancho and Company!  Hope you enjoyed his story and I would love the opportunity to capture your furry family’s story!
